What up, Element JAX?!!! 

Well, by now, you may have heard the news about Fuse! 

Beginning on Wednesday, May 20^th, we will be combining our weekly Midtown Fuel and Element JAX services into a ridiculus weekly service, which we are calling “Fuse.”  It’s gonna be AWESOME!!

So: no more Sunday night Element JAX meetings.  Instead, we’ll see ya at FUSE on Wednesday nights!  **NO MEETING on May 13th, due to SHINE!!

If you are a part of the Element CORE, we are moving CORE to Sunday Mornings, at the Midtown Campus’ 9:30AM service, in Classroom B.  We’ll see you there with the same flow you love from Wednesday nights: Students preaching, Bible Study, Promo, Outreach and Expression Teams, all building skillz for FUSE and to reach our generation for Jesus!!

Winter Jam

What up, E?  Winter Jam is coming to the Jax coleseum on Saturday, February 14th!  That’s right, it’s Valentine’s day MADNESS!!  Family Force 5, Tobymac, etc.  SWEET!!

The promoters are looking for volunteers, so if you want to get involved, talk to your Life Group Coach (LGC) or just shoot me an email: jwyatt@celebration.org .  We’ll get your name on the list.

First Sunday Blows UP!!

Element JAX launched today by combining our groups from Midtown and St. John’s Campuses!  Worship was awesome with the Voltron-Optimus Prime maxxed out worship team blowing it up!! High speed worship songs, capped with How He Loves Us, featuring a spoked word by Michael S. 

We launched into our series: The Jesus Movement.  We looked at Acts 1:8, where Jesus lets us in on His plan to win the world back to God.  It’s a movement.  A Jesus movement.  And it starts in YOU.  It’s personal.  Then local.  Then Global.  This is gonna be a fun series to unpack!

We finished the night with another awesome song from Mike Sheridan, and a fresh mixer among grades.    The winner picked up a 6-pack!!!  Of movie tickets, that is!  Other winners picked up Starbucks gift cards and free pizzas for their grade!

The Core meets for the first time at Midtown this Wednesday: 6PM Intercessory Prayer, 7PM CORE meeting!  In The Core, we’ll be going deep with God, and learning to preach, teach, and win the World for Christ!  Our Core Team will also be developing our services and outreach plans for Element!

Element Rolling to Sunday Night!!

In a few weeks, Element is gonna become hotter than ever!

On Sunday, February 8th, we are moving our Element Service to Sunday night!  Not only that, but our Crew from St. John’s will be rolling up to join us as we merge into one! 

Pastor Big John and I are STOKED!!!  We are becoming one super-mega batch of High School Jesus Freaks, from the STJ and DOOO-VAL!

The Element Sunday Night Blowout will begin with games at 5pm.  Service starts at 6pm.  More info in the weeks to come!

ELEMENT CORE: If you can only make it out to Element on Wednesdays, do not despair!  On Wednesday nights, we’ll be launching our new Element Core meeting during the midweek service (7pm).  This is where you will help steer the Element ministry as we go after God!  We’ll be going deep with God, learning to study deeper, preach, teach and interceede.  We’ll be planning Element services and events.  It’s gonna be AWESOME!!!

What up, Element?! Remember the message a few months ago, ZEALOUS…FOR JESUS?!!  Today’s fasting devo on www.awake21.org featured an awesome passage on zeal.  Check it out! We’re reading through the Gospel of John, a chapter a day.

I’m praying for you guys to experience God like never before during this fast! GO BIG IN GOD!!

2009 HABITS Onslaught of Awesomeness!!

AWWW YEAH!  It was awesome to see all of you back from vacay at Element last Wednesday!!

We launched our new series, “HABITS” this week. We’re taking a look at 6 habits that will, over time, help you find yourself to be a switchedononfireridiculuspassionateworshipperoftheMostHighGod!!!

Our first HABIT of the series: HANG time with God!  We learned that Jesus used to get alone with God a lot (Luke 5:16).  Since Jesus made this a HABIT, we though we might benefit from it, too!  We passed out JOURNALS to use during our quiet time, and decided 4 Things:

• OUR SPOT: where will we have our QT?
• OUR TIME: when will we have our QT?
• OUR FAST: what are you going to give up for God for the next 3 weeks with our Church?
• OUR FAITH: what are you believing God for during the fast?

Tonight is New Year’s Eve.  Goodbye 2008, hello 2009.  Another year of living for Jesus!!  Be safe.

No Element meetings tonight.  We’ll be back in action next Wednesday night, kicking off our new series, HABITS.  We’re going to look at 6 habits every Jesus Freak needs to have!

FCA Gator Bowl Breakfast

Get STOKED!!

We’ll be joining players from the Football Teams from Nebraska and Clemson, and a bunch of Jaguar players for breakfast and an awesome Message! More info on the event is here.

Event is Monday, December 29th, 7AM. Our cost is $7 per student.  All campuses will be meeting at Midtown between 6-6:15AM to carpool, so parents can drop off your kids and head back to bed!

What up, Element?!!

Here is your TOP 10 List you created together at Element on Wednesday:

The TOP 10 reasons it’s hard to share your faith:

10: Fear of scaring people off

9: Don’t know what to say

8: Don’t think anyone’s going to believe you

7: Don’t want to offend people

6: Most of the people I know are already Christians

5: It’s not “cool”

4: Satan will come after you for evangelizing

3: Don’t know the Scriptures well enough to explain the Gospel

2: They already have a religion

AND, the NUMBER 1 REASON IT’S HARD TO SHARE YOUR FAITH:

1. Rejection, rejection, rejection!!

These are all valid reasons for not sharing your faith! But, don’t forget the lesson we learned from Da Scriptures:

1 Peter 3:15 ”But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect…”

Sharing our faith is part of following Jesus!  Consider for a moment, the “EVANGOMETER”:

Let  -100 be that guy who says “There is no God”

Let +100 be a Fully-Mature Follower of Jesus. 

The ZERO LINE is that moment of bliss when the light turns on and you suddenly know that you know that you know that JESUS is the Real Deal, and you give your life to Him.

Remember that it is NOT our job to force everyone we meet across the Zero Line.  Our job is just to help them get one step closer to Jesus, no matter where they are on the evangometer scale.  It’s God’s job to get people ready (John 6:44).  God’s working in EVERYONE’S heart right now (2Peter 3:9).  And as we share our faith, we get to partner with God in His plan to lead people to Jesus!
